YOUTH HACKATHON GREEN FUTURE HACKATHON
SITUATION

The Green Future Hackathon was dedicated to creating IT solutions to raise young people’s awareness of the European Green Deal and implement energy efficiency events. Participants were young people aged 18-35 who are interested in ecology and technology and have experience developing IT solutions. The event was organized by the Ukrainian Academy of Leadership in partnership with Radar Tech, with the support of USAID/ENGAGE, UMAEF, and the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving.

APPROACH

The Radar Tech team developed and implemented a 48-hour offline hackathon with the support of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy. The program included work on developing IT solutions, a service design workshop “I have a business idea. Where to start?”, consultations with 11 mentors, and support from experts in energy, the European Green Deal, marketing, and business development. Participants were organized into 18 teams to create IT platforms and mobile applications to help improve energy efficiency and raise awareness of environmental initiatives among young people. The teams presented their solutions to the jury during the final pitching.
